About us

Pi was born in Winchester in 2014 from a simple idea and a big dream.
 
Following a successful stint working in a Florence pizzeria, first-time restaurateur Rosie Whaley was inspired to serve simple, exceptional and honest food in a vibrant atmosphere you’d want to return to with your family and friends time after time. 

The Pi artisan dough has been perfected by our team of Italian chefs and the secret recipe involves up to a 72-hour fermentation process, resulting in a light and lean base with airy crispy crusts; perfect for our innovative, creative menu combinations. We pride ourselves on working with hand-picked specialist producers in Italy and local UK independent suppliers.
 
Our 20-inch pizzas are made to share and can be divided into half or thirds, giving you the option to try something new alongside your trusted favourites. Pizzas are also available on a 12-inch base; with the option for half and half. Show-stopping toppings include; pork sausage, sliced Desiree potatoes, garlic, thyme, caper crumb and nocellara olives; wild boar salami, red chilli and piquillo peppers; Lebanese spiced ground lamb with Turkish yoghurt and fresh parsley; and Old Winchester cauliflower cheese, chorizo and spinach. All pizzas can be pimped with whole balls of Burrata Pugliese or Bufala Mozzarella; a signature Pi twist sure to please all cheese lovers. To complement the pizzas, Pi’s menu also features small plates and salads to start or enjoy on the side.
 
Pi’s wine list has been curated by Rosie and her team with the menu in mind and offers a selection of organic reds and whites. Lager and craft beers are also available both on tap and in bottles, as well as an impressive selection of organic soft drinks and tempting cocktails, created by our own mixologist.
 
Pre Pi, owner Rosie worked in fashion design, and she has used her creative flair to personally design the restaurant interiors to create vibrant spaces with a buzzing yet relaxing atmosphere. 

She says: The origin of our ingredients is fundamental to Pi’s ethos, which is why we carefully source all our produce and make everything in-house. We want our customers to be assured that everything we serve is of the finest quality.
